Crutches up for Lima Park Hotel

April 20, 2014 Travel

Most hotels in the country are PWD-friendly, following legal requirements. They have ramps for accessibility, provide wheelchairs if needed, and have friendly staff.

However, Lima Park Hotel in Batangas goes above and beyond in this regard.

I had the chance to stay at Lima Park Hotel recently due to work. When the hotel learned about my condition, they booked me in a special room—specifically designed for PWDs.

Welcome to Room 262!

The comfort room: Check!

The room is located on the same floor as the reception area, eliminating the need for guests to queue in the elevator or walk up or down the stairs.

The first thing I inspected was the comfort room. During my previous hotel stays, I didn't take a bath anymore because it was too difficult. I couldn't lift myself to get into the bathtubs, and there was no space for a small chair where I could sit when taking a bath.

In Lima Park Hotel's Room 262, there is no divider separating the floor of the toilet and bath, making it easy to access the shower area. When we tried it, the water didn't flood the rest of the comfort room. The racks are also low, so towels are easy to reach. Plus, the toilets are high enough, so there's no trouble sitting and standing up.

The room: Spacious

The space inside the bedroom is also wide enough for wheelchairs to pass. There are two double beds with mattresses and pillows having just the right amount of firmness.

Service: Excellent!

The staff is also very nice. When one of the staff saw me walking on crutches, he offered to fetch me a wheelchair. I left mine inside the room.

Come breakfast time, when all the guests were required to go down to their café for their free breakfast, my request for room service was accommodated. They asked me to order from the menu, and I was not charged extra. In previous hotels I stayed in, I was asked to go down and take my breakfast at their buffet set-up.

Great hotel for everyone, not just PWDs.

Lima Park Hotel is undoubtedly one of Batangas' best. Besides the uber-friendly staff and spacious rooms, the hotel also boasts great interiors. It has a resort feel and provides a magnificent sweeping view of nearby mountain ranges.

Lima Park Hotel is a 2.2-hectare hotel with 136 rooms available. They have Superior, De Luxe, Premiere Luxe, Suite, Executive Suite, and the newly opened Governor's Suite.

All rooms are elegant and very comfortable. Their standard and superior rooms have two double beds, cable TV, safety deposit boxes, mini-bars, in-room coffee and tea-making facilities. Rooms also come with complete bath amenities.

I particularly like the posh Governor's Suite, featuring a master's bedroom, a guest room, a living room, a private dining area, a working kitchen, a jacuzzi, 42" LED TV with cable, a mini-bar, and a breathtaking view of the hotel's pool.

Need a big bed? They can combine the two beds and make them into one giant bed. How cool is that?

The food is excellent at Lima Park Hotel. Its restaurants, Asian Flavours, La Terrazza, and the Patio Bar, are all superb. I have friends who book weekend stays at the hotel just to have a food trip.

Aside from the restaurant, the hotel has other special facilities like the pool, jacuzzi, gym, meeting rooms, function room, and ballroom.

Thinking of getting married? The Garden House is perfect for romantic celebrations, surrounded by meticulously designed gardens.

Even though I was there for work, it felt like a vacation because the experience was so pleasant. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of the hotel owners, management, and staff.

Lima Park Hotel is located inside Lima Technology Park in Malvar, Batangas.
